Andrew received his B.A. in Mathematics from Harvard College in 2007.  He then went on to the University of Cambridge where he obtained his M.Phil. in Computational Biology.   In 2008, he began working in the laboratory for Computational Neuroscience at McLean Hospital in Belmont, MA under the guidance of Peter Siekmeier M.D. where he investigated theoretical models of the hippocampus in Schizophrenia. In 2010, he joined the Medical Scientist Training Program at Baylor College of Medicine to pursue the joint MD/PhD degree.   As a part of the program in Structural, Computational Biology, and Molecular Biophysics (SCBMB), he have gotten his PhD in the laboratory of Zhandong Liu, PhD, and co-mentored by Mirjana Maletić-Savatić, MD, PhD.
