I obtained my undergraduate degree in mathematics and computer science from the California University of Pennsylvania in 2001. In 2004, I received a master degree in computer science, with the emphasis in database supervised by Dr. John Atkins from West Virginia University. I received my PhD degree in computer and information science from West Virginia University in 2011. My research was applying machine learning models in lung cancer studies, mentored by Dr. Nancy L. Guo. My dissertation was titled “Computational Hybrid Systems for Identifying Prognostic Gene Markers of Lung Cancer”.
