Yanwan Dai, Ph.D.
Bioinformatics Analyst I
Yanwan received her Ph.D. degree in BioSciences and is pursuing her Professional Master’s degree in Statistics from Rice University. Her Ph.D. research mainly focused on the plant defenses in Dr. Janet Braam’s lab, including the discovery of novel defense mechanisms using RNA-seq data. She has also worked on developing machine learning algorithms detecting the onset of a specific type of arrhythmia. Yanwan is currently working on the analysis of transposable elements using high-throughput sequencing data.
